Muslim Neighbours invites you to support our dawah by volunteering, donating and contributing your skills to our cause. Firstly, let us understand the importance of dawah.
Dawah, or inviting others to the Islamic faith, is one of the best deeds in Islam. The term “dawah” literally means “invitation” in Arabic. It encompasses a range of activities and efforts to educate non-Muslims about Islam’s beliefs, values, and practices. Spreading the message of Islam and its teachings is a way to serve Allah (God) and help others achieve salvation.
Let there be a group among you who call ˹others˺ to goodness, encourage what is good, and forbid what is evil—it is they who will be successful.
The Clear Quran 3:104
For Muslims, dawah is a form of worship and religious obligation. By spreading the message of Islam, Muslims can bring peace, justice, and understanding to the world. Additionally, dawah helps to build bridges between different cultures and communities, promoting greater unity and mutual respect.
Invite ˹all˺ to the Way of your Lord with wisdom and kind advice, and only debate with them in the best manner. Surely your Lord ˹alone˺ knows best who has strayed from His Way and who is ˹rightly˺ guided.
The Clear Quran 16:125
Moreover, Dawah provides opportunities for Muslims to learn more about their faith as they engage in discussions; they learn about the concerns and needs of others and develop the skills necessary to communicate the message of Islam effectively.
And whose words are better than someone who calls ˹others˺ to Allah, does good, and says, “I am truly one of those who submit.”?
The Clear Quran 41:33
The rewards of Dawah are numerous, highlighting one:
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: He who called (people) to righteousness, there would be reward (assured) for him like the rewards of those who adhered to it, without their rewards being diminished in any respect…”
Narrated by Muslim, 2674
